Breath as a Bridge: Overcoming Life’s Obstacles
The power of breath as a carpet of ebb and flow

In our fragmented world, filled with dualities akin to a platform game where we leap from one obstacle to another, fostering separation and detachment, I propose that we learn and practice with patient consistency to extend bridges of ebb and flow, inhalation and exhalation, just breathing.
What do I mean by this?
Everything is composed of conditioned forms, and we become even more aware of this when our mood is low or when we struggle with anxiety. Conditioned forms are all phenomena subject to causes and conditions, therefore impermanent and lacking an independent intrinsic nature. These conditioned forms are exacerbated when we suffer anxiety, leading to profound negative distortions, which in turn heighten our sense of separation, dualities, and divisions.
Just breath
Breath is our constant companion and should become an internalized practice in every situation. Like the ebb and flow of the sea, with its gentle back and forth, we must, through inhalation and exhalation, internalize light within our minds, rejecting conditioned forms, especially the bulimic tools par excellence of conditioned forms: social media. We need to reside in our cozy, minimal, and sparse mental room, bathed in celestial light, where no form is conditioned because no form exists. Only formless awareness is present, recognizing that everything lacks conceptual solidity, and does not exist in and of itself, but exists in impermanence, in constant change.
I do not claim that breath is a panacea for all ailments. Still, from personal experience, I can attest that extending these carpets of marine ebb and flow, of breath, over the dual obstacles of the platform game of reality, will gradually and progressively help you feel less separation and more of the total strength of oneness.
And…so?
Surround yourself with the love of family and friends, and never be afraid to ask for help. No one is alone. In every moment, whether you feel at your best or your worst, continue to breathe, convincingly and slowly.
Imagine that this carpet of ebb and flow, of vital breath that unites everything, makes you think of this fertile void that permeates everything. Spotlight your mental room, as they do in theatre, exclusively on your mental room. Find yourself just being there, shunning all that is conditioned and that, because of this, will inflame your emotions.
Have a good life!
